This document outlines the city's trash container rules for residents, focusing on proper storage and set-out procedures to manage litter, pests, and odors.

Key Rules:

• Weekly Storage: Trash must be stored in an enclosed container on private property between collection days. Bags left outside are not permitted.
• Collection Set-Out: On collection night, up to 5 trash bags or 2 containers can be placed at the curb. Bags should be sealed, weigh under 40 pounds, and not be ripped. Containers must be removed within 12 hours post-pickup.
• Multi-Unit Buildings: Buildings with 26+ units must use private collection with bulk containers. Other multi-unit buildings typically use shared containers provided by the property owner.
• Landlord Responsibility: Property owners must comply with the ordinance. They are generally not required to provide individual trash containers to tenants, except for shared containers/dumpsters in multi-unit buildings.
• Recycling: Recycling must be separated and placed in designated recycling containers.
