The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas (KBHCCD) Master Plan is proposing changes to the Jefferson Viaduct to better integrate with the convention center's expansion and improve connectivity. The current Jefferson Viaduct conflicts with the new KBHCCD building footprint, requiring significant cost to raise the building or negatively impacting its design and user experience.

Key Proposed Changes:

• Scenario 1a (Preferred Option): Realign the Jefferson Viaduct to ramp down and connect to Hotel Street, while maintaining a Greenway connection to Houston Viaduct, Reunion Station, and the future Mobility Hub. This option aims to minimize cost and schedule impacts, support the KBHCCD's function and form, and avoid disruptions.
• Street Modifications: This includes removing a section of Memorial Drive between Sports Street and Hotel Street, realigning Market Street to ground level, and adjusting lane assignments on several other streets like Hotel Street and Lamar Street to accommodate the new configuration and greenway connections.
• Thoroughfare Amendments: Six applications will be submitted to amend the Dallas Central Business District (CBD) Streets and Vehicular Circulation Plan.
• Traffic Study: An independent traffic study will be conducted by Transportation and Public Works in collaboration with Convention and Event Services.
