The City Council is authorizing an amendment to terminate an existing Advance Funding Agreement (AFA) with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for the Harry Hines Boulevard corridor project. This termination is necessary due to significant project scope changes, and a new AFA is being drafted. The original AFA, authorized on November 13, 2024, was for $12,000,000.00 in federal funding for advanced traffic management system (ATMS) updates and signal improvements to prioritize emergency vehicles within a one-mile radius around the Southwest Medical District. The project's total cost was $12,628,452.00, with the City's portion covered by 2,400,000 regional Transportation Development Credits. This action has no cost consideration to the City. The termination is in alignment with the Infrastructure Management Plan.
