This resolution honors and commends Joyce Delifus for her dedicated service and leadership as President of the Shawn D. Delifus Foundation. The foundation, established in memory of her son Shawn, provides free swimming lessons, water safety instruction, and lifeguarding courses to nearly 2,000 children and adults in Jacksonville, particularly in underserved communities. Under her leadership, the foundation has significantly increased access to lifesaving water skills and promoted water safety awareness. Joyce Delifus has received recognition for her work, including the Janet Owens Award from LISC Jacksonville and the Winston YMCA Branch Award.
