This resolution, Resolution 2025-114, honors W.C. Gentry for his extensive and dedicated service to the City of Jacksonville. The City Council expresses its profound gratitude for his decades of commitment, which have significantly improved the city's safety and quality of life.

Mr. Gentry's contributions include instrumental roles in the original Jacksonville Journey (launched 2008) and its successor, Jacksonville Journey Forward (established 2024), both aimed at reducing violence and strengthening neighborhoods. He also played a key role in establishing the City's first Ethics Commission and served on numerous other boards and commissions. Furthermore, his service extended to education as a former Member and Chairman of the Duval County School Board.
