This ordinance appropriates $4,500,000 from the Tree Protection and Related Expenses Trust Fund (Ordinance) to the Level 2 Tree Planting Program. This funding will support tree plantings administered by the Department of Public Works on public property. The Public Works Department will continue to oversee and administer the program, tracking plantings and removals electronically. The Tree Commission recommended this appropriation to continue and expand the Level 2 Program, which allows citizens, organizations, and city departments to suggest planting locations on public property. The ordinance is introduced by Council Member Arias and will be effective upon mayoral signature or without it.
