Motion (Price – Hernandez) relative to a pothole inventory, pothole repair response times, pothole funding, and related matters.

This motion, introduced by Councilmember Price and seconded by Councilmember Hernandez, addresses the significant increase in potholes across Los Angeles due to recent record rainfall. It requests a comprehensive report from the Bureau of Street Services (StreetsLA) detailing:

• A citywide inventory of potholes identified since December 24, 2025, attributable to storm activity, including their location and repair status, formatted for mapping and regular updates.
• An analysis of pothole repair response times during the recent storms, broken down by Council District, to identify and address service disparities and improve equitable response.
• Identification of potholes posing elevated public safety risks and recommended criteria for prioritizing their repair.

Additionally, the motion requests the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to report on the fiscal impacts and budget constraints related to storm-related pothole operations. The CAO is also asked to identify alternative short- and long-term funding strategies for pothole repair and street maintenance, including potential reallocation of existing funds, one-time funding sources, and available state or federal funding opportunities.
