Proposition K – L.A. For Kids Steering Committee report relative to a finding of infeasibility for the Phase III Reclaimed Water portion of the defined scope for the Griffith Park Ferraro Soccer Fields (R12) specified project in Council District 4.
Summary
The L.A. for Kids Steering Committee has recommended a finding of infeasibility for the Phase III Reclaimed Water portion of the Griffith Park Ferraro Soccer Fields project (R12) in Council District 4. This finding is due to the reclaimed water pipeline (Purple Pipe) not extending to the project site and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) not planning to fund an extension. Additionally, most of the fields have been converted to synthetic turf, reducing the need for reclaimed water for irrigation. The project originally had a total award of $4,194,408 from Proposition K funds. The previously completed phases included construction of a field house, restroom building, picnic areas, and improvements to athletic fields. The anticipated project savings from this infeasibility finding will be reprogrammed to another eligible project within the Proposition K program. There is no fiscal impact to the General Fund.
