The changes include increasing the rates for Advanced Life Support (ALS) from $2,625 to $2,915, Basic Life Support (BLS) from $1,862 to $2,068, and the mileage rate from $20 to $29 per mile. These increases are intended to ensure full cost recovery for the Los Angeles Fire Department's (LAFD) Emergency Medical Service (EMS) program. The LAFD estimates these changes will generate an additional $3.7 million annually, with an estimated $1.85 million in FY 2024-25 due to a projected January 1, 2025 implementation date.
