Amendment No. One to Professional Services Agreement with COAR Design Group and Approval of Professional Services Agreement with Geocon West, Inc.

The City Council is asked to approve an amendment to the professional services agreement with COAR Design Group for construction support services related to the replacement of Fire Station No. 1 and the Balboa Branch Library. This amendment increases COAR's total not-to-exceed compensation by $290,000, bringing the total to $987,248. The agreement's term is also extended to December 31, 2028. Additionally, the council will approve a new professional services agreement with Geocon West, Inc. for geotechnical inspection services for the same project, with a not-to-exceed amount of $139,000. Geocon West, Inc. previously provided geotechnical recommendations during the design phase and is familiar with the project. Funding for both agreements is available in the adopted Capital Improvement Program budget for the Fire Station No. 1 and Balboa Branch Library Replacement project.
