The City Council is considering a resolution to amend a consultant contract with Loving Campos Associates (LCA) Architects for the Fire Station 4 Project. The amendment seeks to increase the contract by $2,700,000.00, bringing the total contract value from $1,500,000.00 to $4,200,000.00. This increase is necessary to cover architectural and engineering design services for a new Fire Station 4, including site remediation plans and design support during construction. The project aims to replace the current 1909-built station, which is outdated and does not meet modern safety, accessibility, or workforce standards. The proposed new site is at 1745 14th Avenue. The resolution also includes waiving the competitive Request for Proposal/Qualifications requirement for this amendment and adopting CEQA findings.
