Summary
The City Council of Orlando is considering Ordinance No. 2025-43 to annex approximately 0.32 acres of land located north of E. Michigan Street, east of Mayer Street, west of Brown Avenue, and south of E. Crystal Lake Avenue. This voluntary annexation, designated as ANX2025-10002 (2619 Mayer Street Annexation), was initiated with a petition accepted by the City Council on June 23, 2025. The Municipal Planning Board recommended approval on July 15, 2025, along with a future land use amendment and initial zoning of R-2A/T, which will permit future development of duplexes. The property is contiguous to the City limits and does not create an enclave, meeting requirements under Chapter 171 of Florida Statutes. The Board of County Commissioners approved the annexation and an interlocal agreement on January 13, 2026. The ordinance had its first reading on December 8, 2025, and its second reading and public hearing are scheduled for February 23, 2026. Upon annexation, the property will be subject to established municipal regulatory costs and will contribute an estimated $1,863.14 annually in property taxes to the General Fund.
