To authorize the Chief Administrative Officer, for and on behalf of the City of Richmond, to execute a First Amendment to Maymont Foundation Operating Agreement between the City of Richmond and the Maymont Foundation for the purpose of allowing the Maymont Foundation to continue managing, maintaining, operating, and improving Maymont Park in the city of Richmond.

This ordinance authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to execute a First Amendment to the Maymont Foundation Operating Agreement. This amendment allows the Maymont Foundation to continue managing, maintaining, operating, and improving Maymont Park for an additional year, extending the term to December 31, 2026. The City of Richmond agrees to provide funding of at least $473,800.00 to the Foundation for its obligations under the agreement, to be paid in equal quarterly installments, contingent upon annual appropriations by City Council. The Maymont Foundation has been stewarding the park since 1975, overseeing its historic grounds, gardens, nature center, and farm, and has recently undertaken significant improvement projects.

This agreement ensures the continued operation and improvement of Maymont Park by the Maymont Foundation. Residents can expect the park to remain open and maintained, with ongoing efforts to enhance guest experiences and accessibility.
