The project involves approximately 875 feet of street resurfacing and the construction of a new sidewalk along the south side of Maury Street. Key features include a raised intersection with a pedestrian hybrid beacon-controlled crosswalk at 6th Street, updated ADA-compliant curb ramps on the north side, and landscaping with street trees, benches, bike racks, and trash receptacles. The street will be resurfaced to include two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane. The project also incorporates stormwater management through permeable sidewalk design and creates an amenity space at the Commerce Road intersection adjacent to the planned Fall Line Trail. The Urban Design Committee (UDC) previously approved the concept in September 2025 and is now reviewing the final location, character, and extent.
