This item is a presentation on the Love Your Neighbor Collaborative - Social Work Intern Program, a partnership between educational institutions, non-profits, faith-based organizations, businesses, and local government. The program aims to address health disparities among individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of housing instability by leveraging social work students. Path of Life Ministries has partnered with the City of Riverside Public Library system to implement this model within library locations, which serve as community hubs. Trained social work interns, supervised by a full-time Social Work Specialist, provide outreach, intake, needs assessment, and case management services across eight library locations. Services include housing problem-solving, referrals to shelter and housing resources, mainstream benefits enrollment, employment services, and mental health referrals. In Calendar Year 2025, 15 interns contributed 1,546 in-kind service hours, providing services such as housing navigation, shelter referrals, and life skills education. There is no fiscal impact associated with this presentation.
