Report on Bids and Award of Contract for the 10626 - 2026 Local Streets Remove and Replace Pavement Project.

The City Council is being asked to award a contract for the 10626 – 2026 Local Streets Remove and Replace Pavement Project to G. Bortolotto & Company, Inc. for $2,601,480. This project will involve asphalt concrete pavement repairs along approximately 50 miles of local and neighborhood streets to be sealed in the 2026 construction season. A 10% contingency of $260,148 is also requested for any unforeseen work. The project aims to extend pavement life and improve roadway conditions. Bids were opened on February 19, 2026, with G. Bortolotto & Company, Inc. submitting the lowest responsive bid, which was 24% below the engineer's estimate of $3,403,000. The funding for this project comes from the 486 – VTA Measure B 2016 (Complete Streets - use for residential) fund. Construction is scheduled to begin in May 2026 and be substantially completed by August 2026.
