Summary

The Art in Public Places Committee recommends approving the award of $20,000 from the Public Art Fund for two temporary public art projects to be displayed in summer/fall 2026. Artist Martin Zuniga will receive $10,000 for 'Las Sincuenta Monarcas,' a collaborative installation featuring 50 monarch butterflies with youth from Latino Service Providers, to be located at Howarth Park trails and the Museum of Sonoma County. Michael McGinnis and Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) sculpture students will receive $10,000 for a series of temporary sculptural installations placed throughout select Santa Rosa park and civic sites, inspired by the 'Running Fence' project.
