Acceptance of State Grant for the Cloverdale Veterans Building Safety and Infrastructure Improvements Project
Summary
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors is asked to adopt a resolution to accept a $500,000 State General Fund grant from the California Natural Resources Agency for the Cloverdale Veterans Building Safety and Infrastructure Improvements Project. The funds will be used for deferred maintenance, facility modernization, and safety improvements, including roof replacement ($225,000), exterior painting ($50,000), gutter replacement ($5,000), a French drain ($20,000), refinishing auditorium floors ($25,000), replacing ceiling tiles ($8,000), and installing an electronic sign ($25,000), acoustic tiles ($25,000), and a professional sound system ($25,000). Project management and grant management costs are estimated at $50,000 and $10,000, respectively, with $32,000 allocated for contingency. The grant funds will be provided on a reimbursement basis, and all project costs must be incurred and fully expended by March 1, 2028. The County will be required to maintain and operate the facility improvements for a minimum of 20 years. Existing staff will administer the grant.
