STRONG COMMUNITIES PROGRAM UPDATES
Summary
This presentation provides updates on the Strong Communities Program, funded by Measure M. Key capital improvement projects include the Ursula Meyer Library, which is in its final closeout phase and preparing for a ribbon cutting. The Aquatics Renovation at Oak Park identified a project shortfall due to the poor condition of existing CMU walls requiring additional work. The Community Center Public Address System upgrade is being led by O&M, with staff conducting site assessments for necessary conduit and bracket work.
Program updates also highlight various initiatives such as the Bookmobile, Career Jobs, Aquatics, Adult Literacy, Project Toolbox, Teen Day Trips, Playmobile, Adult Sports, Youth Sports, Ultra Friday Nights, and Summer Reading programs. The program is also conducting a Community Needs Assessment and updating signage at various sites.
