ENV RES-RKD02-Kensico Dam Plaza Storage Building

This item requests authorization to amend the County's current Capital Budget and adopt a related Amended Bond Act to finance the Kensico Dam Plaza Storage Building project (RKD02). The Capital Budget Amendment will increase the County's share for RKD02 by $2,500,000, bringing the total to $10,350,000. This total includes $7,850,000 in previously authorized bonds. The Amended Bond Act will finance the design, construction, and construction management for a new maintenance building and outdoor storage area at Kensico Dam Plaza.

Project Details:

• A new building of approximately 26.75 feet in height with a 5,075 SF footprint.
• Includes indoor equipment and vehicle storage, workshop, office space, employee facilities, outdoor storage yard, fuel tanks, and approximately 25 parking spaces.
• Construction is anticipated to take 18 months to complete.
• The project is classified as an "Unlisted" action under SEQR, and a Negative Declaration has been issued, finding no significant adverse environmental impact. Measures include energy efficiency, solar panels, a subsurface stormwater infiltration system, and a hydrodynamic separator for water quality protection. The building's exterior will be sympathetic to the historic Kensico Dam.
