IMA-Ward Avenue Bridge-Village of Mamaroneck

This Intermunicipal Agreement (IMA) between Westchester County and the Village of Mamaroneck authorizes the County to contribute funding towards the demolition and reconstruction of the Ward Avenue Bridge. The project aims to reduce flooding in the Village.

• Village: Responsible for acquiring necessary property rights and easements, conveying them to the County for financing. The Village will also handle remediation of any hazardous materials found, indemnify the County for remediation claims, act as lead agency for environmental reviews, and be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the bridge, surrounding land, and stream bed after completion.

Project Details:

• The agreement has a term of at least 40 years, aligning with the life of any bonds issued by the County.
• The County's funding is capped at $22,000,000, and both parties may seek additional funding from New York State.
• The Village must provide necessary easements to the County for project financing.
• The agreement includes detailed provisions for insurance, indemnification, and the handling of hazardous materials.
